Summer Reading Can Be Fun! (5th – 6th ) Mrs. Gorman

Enter the world of fiction through a selection of short stories.  Students will use their critical thinking skills through analyzing, discussion, and artistic means.  Ideal for students who want to strengthen their reading and writing skills.  Also, for the student who loves to delve into a good story and put his/her pen to paper.

Get Yourself Ready (5th -6th )  Mrs. Gorman

          Getting organized is the key!  This class will give students a head start into THE NEW SCHOOL YEAR.  Emphasis will be placed on how to get and stay organized, note taking skills, study skills and test taking strategies.  Will be beneficial for these students who wish to sharpen and maintain their skills

Math and Language Arts (3rd – 4th)  Mrs. Delgado

          Explore and discover Charlotte’s journey in the novel Riding Freedom by Pam Munoz Ryan while enjoying fun writing activities that bring the story to life.  Support for basic math skills, multiplication and division facts, fractions and estimation are brought along the journey as well.  Gear up and get ready…

Creative Expression (1st – 4th)  Mrs. Delgado

          Come and discover how much fun it can be to spend summer mornings cooking, building, painting, experimenting, and exploring new ideas and creating together.  Each week will be a different focus:  self, sun, spirit, and soil.  Material fee $25

Intro to dance (1st3rd )  Ms.  J.  Ferris

          Let’s have fun exploring all different type of dance this summer.  Put on your ballet shoes, jazz pants and don’t forget your tap shoes.  This is a dance class you will never forget!

Education Adventure (K-2nd)  Ms. J. Ferris

           In this class we will reinforce math, science, word practice, writing and cooking through exploring some of our favorite stories.  Word practice, reading and math will be done daily but the following will be emphasized on these particular days.  Monday – reading, Tuesday – math, Wednesday – science, Thursday – writing project, Friday – cooking.

Art - Pottery (Kinder – 3rd ) 

          Students will experience hand including glazing and learing about kiln loading. There will be a pottery wheel demonstration and students will get a chance to try their hand at the potter wheel.
