Seventh Grade has finished chapetr 3 on Good decision making. Quizzes are filed to go home. Vices and virtues were discussed in class and a chart was made diagraming what good habits and practices a Seventh Grader should develop. Lent is of course our new topic of study. sacrifice and ash wednesday are the discussion for the week of Feb 4th. The next 2 weeks will focus more closely on the details of Holy Week.. No quiz this week.
English: we are coming to the close of unit #4. adverbs/Adjectives. We have a unit test on Friday. This is a big one. No "orange book" vocab the weekof Feb 4 but look for it the following week.
Literature: We conitinue with Homeless Bird.This is a beautiful novel about a thirteen year old Indian girl in an arranged marriage. She is forced to leave home forever. She wishes she could run but society and tradition dictate otherwise. She finds herself on her own and realizes she can take her fate into her own hands. It is a culturally acurate tale that is woven into our Social Studies curriculum.
