The shut down happened on Thursday March 12th 2020 At first it was remember it was going to be a couple of weeks then months would go by We all had concerns it was a pandemic we were all very scared and unsure We didn't want to go outside in the beginning yeah like right we thought the virus was in the air or something We thought we would be back in a couple of weeks or maybe a month so let's just figure out what we need to do to get to that time the decision was made that we would not be coming back until the last part of May and then we all realize the reality we weren't coming back So we turned our den into a school room then two kids at one table another in the kitchen logging into Google classroom I didn't know what Zoom was I hadn't heard of it but it was live and we could see each other we got to know each other's personalities everything went on as best that we could at St. Elizabeths we still had Spirit Weeks and the Halloween Drive-by that was the best Christmas and we did two First Communions in one year was a task of teaching the kids were still a family we're still a class and for them to feel connected and take care of and then we got the word from the Department of Catholic schools that we can finally got the word did such a wonderful job of knitting everybody together virtually but it really doesn't replace that in person contact it was funny seeing them trying their uniforms on but they hadn't worn in so long and we all live in PJs there for months we did a great job job going through and uncertain time now it was time for us to come together again to transition from remote learning to in-person instruction I missed school my kids missed school desperately music playing music playing music playing music playing music playing music playing one of the beautiful things about our community is that everybody pitches in to help where they can when they can how they can my absolute gratitude to the Angels Among Us that donated time or anything they could to help the families in need we can't be more thankful that they thought about the safety of our children and the importance of Community back together St. Elizabeth is a beacon for other schools we doing the job that we are called to do we're living out the Gospel
